Field Director
The Outreach Team is currently seeking Field Directors to join us on a campaign to pass an upcoming ballot initiative. We are hiring for Lead Director and Deputy Director positions in Florida,
Field Directors will recruit, train, and manage a team of local petitioners who will gather signatures from registered Florida voters to qualify this initiative for an upcoming election. Additionally, the Lead Campaign Director will manage a team of one or more Deputy Field Directors, and will be responsible for building an office to scale from the ground up. This position reports to the Project Director.
Important Note: Employees must complete Florida’s Constitutional Amendments/Initiatives training, and maintain a petition circulator registration, which requires:
- Being at least 18 years of age or older.
- Being a resident of the State of Florida and currently residing in Florida.
- Being a citizen of the United States.
- Not having any felony conviction (or if you do, providing proof that your rights have been restored).
These are some of the prerequisites established by the state of Florida. To apply, you must meet these required qualifications, and we will conduct background checks to verify this criteria.
Locations: Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Miami, and Ft. Lauderdale
Management Responsibilities:
- Work with our recruitment team to find and hire members of the community to work as petitioners and assist voters in carefully and correctly completing the petition.
- Manage a team of 40 petitioners, setting and driving goals along the way.
- Build a database of successful locations for gathering signatures from registered voters. Coordinate petitioning sites for your staff, and work with partner groups to avoid overlapping efforts in the field.
- Go out in the field yourself several days per week to collect petitions, train staff, and help drive office goals.
- Administrative duties, including working with the HR Director on payroll, onboarding and offboarding staff, and compliance.

- Leadership experience, ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team.
- Eagerness to lead from the front and petition several days a week.
- Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others.
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement.
- Building inclusive teams
- Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends.
Nice-to-have
- 1-3+ years of experience running paid canvasses or other canvassing operations.
- Management experience
Salary: The salary range for this position is $1,146 - 1,500 per week. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement and bonuses.
