About The Outreach Team

The Outreach Team is the national engine of campaigners and organizers powering the progressive movement. With an on-the-ground presence in communities all across the country, our world-class team runs successful civic engagement campaigns on behalf of progressive organizations. These campaigns work to build a future that is fairer, cleaner, safer, and more peaceful for everyone.

About the Position

This is a full-time, exempt position for an experienced campaigner with an eye for details and a  passion for behind the scenes work. The Campaign Launch Director will be integral in connecting support departments to our field teams as new campaigns are launching. This will ensure directors on the ground start their project with all the support, materials, and training they need to hit the ground running and be successful projects. This is a remote position, can be performed from anywhere in the continental U.S., and will involve significant travel during peak campaign periods. This is a Project Director level position reporting directly to our VP of Campaigns, and working closely in collaboration with Project Directors, with an anticipated end date of December 2024.

What you’ll do:

Collaborate with Project Directors and Support Departments

  • Create informational launch calls and documents for support departments, including recruitment, payroll and systems. These documents and meetings will orient everyone to the scope of the project and outline all necessary information support teams need to fully set up the systems needed for new projects to be successful.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple Project Directors as they are the bottomline on their project. You will be a strong, detail oriented resource for them as each project gears up and gets started.

Manage Logistics

  • Lead the search for new office locations. You’ll research offices in target locations, manage communication with potential property managers, and pass top options to Project Directors for final approval.
  • Coordinate supply shipments for new offices, keep an inventory of what is used, what is in storage, and what is needed as new projects start.
  • Coordinate relocation plans for newly hired field directors. You’ll book the travel and housing that is best for each project, and maintain strong communication between Project Directors and new Field Directors as they plan to be on the ground.

Support Director Training

  • Build out a shared google drive with important campaign materials. This will include job descriptions and guides for each director role (turf deputy, QC deputy, admin deputy, etc.), budget trackers, hourly schedules, weekly report/planning forms, etc. to ensure that all field directors have a well organized resource bank as they get started.
  • Create Canvass Director training materials alongside the Project Directors and co-facilitate in-person Director Trainings prior to the office launch. This may include spending a week or so at a new office, supporting directors as they build out strong practices in line with the campaign model, and create a fun and equitable office culture for canvassers.

This job may be for you, if you:

  • Have an eye for details that others may miss, and enjoy making systems efficient for everyone.
  • Are experienced in running large scale, social change campaigns with urgent deadlines. Ideally, you’ve worked at a Project Director or Regional Director level for an issue-based campaign, voter registration drive, voter contact campaign, signature drive, candidate campaign, face-to-face fundraising drive, or some combination of those.
  • Share The Outreach Team’s commitment to prioritizing equity and justice in our work and team culture.
  • Have client management experience or experience coordinating stakeholders.
  • Are able to work long or irregular hours, if needed, and are able to travel occasionally during peak campaign periods.
  • Have training and/or facilitation experience.
  • Are comfortable using standard campaign tech including Google Suite, Slack, VAN, and are confident in learning others as necessary.
  • Have administrative experience.
  • Have worked with The Outreach Team in the past (this is a plus, but not required).

Timeline: We'll begin interviewing for this role in April, and will review applications on a rolling basis. We plan for this role to start soon and run through to the election in November.

Compensation

This is a salaried position with a range of $55,000-$78,000 per year depending on experience, including bonuses. We offer benefits including fully paid health care, vacation and sick days.

At The Outreach Team, we prioritize equity and inclusion. We are an equal opportunity employer and we strongly encourage Black, indigenous, people of color, women, people with previous felony convictions, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and others who identify with underrepresented groups to apply.

Please note: We want to hire people of all gender identities. This hiring platform (JazzHR) does not allow us to add in specific options for gender identities outside of the binary, but we are currently working with them to find a solution.
