About The Outreach Team

The Outreach Team is the national engine of campaigners and organizers building a fairer, cleaner, safer, and more peaceful world. Every campaign is our opportunity to make the world better. We show up because we believe in what’s possible—politically, personally and collectively. We invest in people at every level—industry-leading pay/benefits, rigorous training and support, real paths to leadership.

About the Campaign

The Western States Regional Council of Carpenters represents over 60,000 carpenters. Los Angeles is the heart of our union. Training is key to our work. One of our 250 training centers is in Sylmar, just up the road from the district. We build nearly every kind of structure you see and we build careers, not just jobs.

The Carpenter’s Union knows what successful organizing and true leadership can accomplish and that’s why they are working to turn out the vote for City Council candidates that share their values. Our campaign will be going door to door in CD-3 to help elect Barri Worth Girvan and CD-9 to help elect Jose Ugarte to the LA City Council on behalf of the Carpenter's Union for the fall midterm elections.

Turf Directors support the work of voter contact and voter registration campaigns by making sure we are reaching the right voters in the right areas each day we canvass. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in PDI and GSuite, along with a willingness to learn new mapping and database management systems. We are looking for people who are familiar with the demographic profile and walkability of the districts we’ll be working in, as well as people who share our deep concern for canvasser health and safety. Responsibilities of the Turf Director will include turf packet preparation and cutting; canvass results data analysis; density analysis; data integrity monitoring; turf and precinct tracking; GOTV strategy; historical campaign data analysis.

If you are passionate about using data and local knowledge in California, join our team as a Turf Director.
