Administrative Support Staff
Overview:
Join our SORC (Special Operations Resource Center) Department, which acts as the backbone of campaign operations by providing responsive, structured, and strategic support for launches, logistics, emergency staffing, and organizational knowledge.
SORC Support Staff will work remotely alongside SORC Directors to help complete travel arrangements, materials management, office launches, expense reporting, and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the SORC Deputy Director and takes day-to-day assignments across the SORC departments.
Locations: This fully remote position, but we are only able to hire people based in the following states: Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
We are hiring immediately. All positions run through November 6th, 2026. Shifts are flexible and scheduled on weekdays and weekends in alignment with your availability and department needs. This is a part-time hourly position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist SORC directors with a variety of tasks related to travel logistics, office launches, materials orders, and duties as assigned
- This may include, but is not limited to, booking travel, hotels, rideshares, calling realtors about office spaces, fulfilling materials requests, reporting expenses across the department, etc.
- Update trackers and verify accuracy of data, taking ownership of the accuracy of reporting
- Represent our department and communicate with our travelers professionally when covering our phone/messaging hotline
- Engage with all staff and community members respectfully and with cultural competence
- Actively present online when scheduled for a shift, keeping up with slack, email, and phone notifications in a timely manner
- Communicate with SORC directors & other hourly staff about task progress and shift availability
- Learn and execute new tasks as they arise
- Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in ongoing trainings
The Ideal Candidate Has:
- Moderate level of computer and internet literacy including the ability to navigate between multiple tabs in an internet browser and navigating basic computer functions.
- Comfortability navigating spreadsheets, Google Drive, email inboxes including the use of filters & labels to navigate
- A high degree of attention to detail when completing all tasks
Nice To Haves:
- Passionate about progressive issues
- Interest in building administrative experience and cross-departmental collaboration
- Experience using Google Workspace, Slack, & Airtable or similar digital workplace management tools
Pay: Pay is $20/hour. This is a part-time position working up to 20 hours/week.
