Grassroots Climate Action Campaign Fellow
General Overview: From extreme heat to more deadly storms, climate change is here and impacting our lives. The consequences will only grow if we fail to act boldly and swiftly to transition to clean energy and to invest in supporting impacted communities. Students and young people are uniquely equipped to spearhead environmental and climate action movements. In order to elevate that power, the CAC Grassroots Fellow will be responsible for working with their Campus Organizer to recruit and train volunteers, collect hundreds of petitions from the campus community, and organize events on campus to ensure elected officials hear from young people about climate issues.
Timeline: This position will run from Sept 5, 2025 through November 21, 2025
Primary Responsibilities: Work closely with the Climate Action Campaign Organizer to collect petitions and other actions from constituents on campus.
Duties include:
- Scheduling and reserving tables necessary to petition on campus.
- Training volunteers on basic tabling and petitioning skills.
- Petitioning in heavily trafficked locations on campus on behalf of CAC
- Delivering announcements and handing out petitions to faculty and classes on campus
- Tracking and reporting daily numbers
- Planning, recruiting for, and attending recurring CAC volunteer meetings on campus
- Attending a 3-part leadership development training series
- Organizing one large climate focused campus event in collaboration with the campus CAC organizer and partner organizations
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to social justice and climate action
- Self starter and goal oriented.
- Flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities at once in a fast-paced environment
- Nice-to-haves: Experience with data entry or database management, experience in issue-organizing, advocacy or electoral campaigns.
Hours and Pay: 20 hours per week, $20/hour

We mobilize when and where progressives need us, delivering high-quality results and lasting change. Currently we are working with the Climate Action Campaign in AZ-6 (Tuscon) at Pima Community College to generate support from young constituents to call on the new Administration and members of Congress to defend climate solutions.
